Outlander 400 Clutch Kit

Improved acceleration, belt grip; low speed throttle response & pull in the mid-range with no loss of top speed. This kit includes adjustable engagement (stall speed) RPM and the flyweights (levers) can be set up for stock or oversized tires.

   

Outlander 500 Clutch Kit

This clutch kit was developed to help recover losses incurred from installing oversized tires on the Can Am 500. This clutch recalibration is a great improvement in acceleration and help with back shifting to proper ratio when under load conditions. Better belt grip for oversized tires and improvement in throttle response brings performance back to acceptable levels after the addition of heavier tires. This kit also works well to recalibrate the shift pattern for higher elevations even with stock tires. The new "baby V-twin" comes from factory with flyweights that are well suited to its application and re-calibrations are accomplished with the use of new springs. An optional engagement spacer for use with the stock primary spring and/or the provided primary spring depending on the application and tire sizes used ,and a new secondary spring that was developed specifically for this model. The use of this kit does not hurt top speed when used as instructed for the proper application.

   
Outlander 650 Clutch Kit

This new clutch recalibration for the CAN-AM 650 Outlander 4x4 offers flexible tuning options for stock or oversized tires and high elevations. Improved acceleration, throttle response and back shifting with no loss of top speed when set up properly for your application. This kit uses a different adjustable base weight than the 800 cc kits.

   
Outlander 800 Clutch Kit

Improved bottom to mid range acceleration without sacrificing top speed. A new flyweight with a new curvature was designed specifically for this 800cc Outlander model. These new flyweights can be set up for different applications. You can set up this system for: improved acceleration with stock tires re-calibration to help recover losses from oversized tires, or to help control up shift at higher elevations. Baseline set up guide included for most common applications. Frequently asked question: Is there a different or better drive belt I should use on this model ? Although in some instances of snowmobile racing, etc., we will recommend a different particular belt compound or brand for certain specific applications,our testing and race programs have proven very distinctly that the factory belt is superior for this application.

   
Renegade 800 Clutch Kit

The 800 Renegade is not only a lighter weight vehicle than the Outlander, it also has smaller stock tires. The 800R kit for this model comes with the same base flyweights as the Outlander kit, but has different rivets, calibrations, and set up instructions for 25" and 26" (aftermarket) tire sizes.To use the DBO 800 kit on a Renegade with Stock Tires, order the optional rivets part #DFRL-Y.

   
Dalton Primary Spring

Comet Glide Washers

Drive Clutch springs are in constant motion, being subjected to compression, rebound, end to end radial torquing, distortion, and vibration. “Glide Washers” are custom made with a baked-on lubricity coating. By placing a washer on each end of the spring it can no longer bind on the spyder or clutch cover. This frees up the spring to do its intended job. Each kit comes with 5 washers. Two have a lubricity and rust proof coating and three are zinc plated to prevent rust. Each washer increases clutch engagement speed approximately 40 to 50 rpm’s which makes it a nice tuning tool.

The concept of this design is to provide an improved amount of force to the belt approximately for the first 30% to 70% of the belts shift and then release the force once the vehicles momentum is established. This design solves the biggest problem that tuners face from years past-- belt slip and over revving during hard acceleration.

The dual roller option creates a very consistent smooth up shift and backshift. The encapsulated helix design keeps the driven from unloading, opening and going into high gear during downshifting, breaking and jumping. The use of the helix body to support the moveable sheave instead of towers keeps the whole assembly concentric and centered without twisting while under load. This is a tremendous upgrade over the stock driven.
